Did you know, that the Human bodys skin is perfectly fine for venturing into space? it has a perfect seal against the vacume of space (apart form the head area) the only thing it does is increases to almost twice its size due to the extreme low pressure, they actually had already researched skin tight full body suits to combat the low presure and mechanically keep pressure on the skin, the only thing they needed would be a presurised helmet to keep your eyes in your sockets and your lungs from explosive decompression.

and with punctures up to a square millimeter of skin being exposed to vacume for extended periods showed no perminant effects, where as if a presurised suit were to get a puncture you would loose all presure in the suit and it would be all over. Nasa though for some reason discontinued research on it, and still continue to use a fully presurised suit to this day.

So next time you see movies or more often Anime where the characters just wear a helmet with a full body suit floating about in space, you know now that its based on fact, and not made up
